It seems like there’s a wall between you and the people you love when you’re exhausted, on-edge, and ashamed - how can you be yourself when you’re so uncomfortable, so overwhelmed, and in so much pain that it seems as though your body and mind have betrayed you? Slowing down and relishing in baby snuggles or easing into deep sleep after a long day seems like a fantasy when your brain is flooded with terrifying images about every awful thing that has happened or could happen to you and the people you love.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a special type of therapy that helps your mind and body learn how to live in peace after unsettling experiences. It helps you feel safe and stable, even when dealing with pain, when you’re reminded of scary memories, or when uncomfortable thoughts move through your mind.
Research shows that EMDR therapy is safe and effective for helping pregnant and postpartum people feel better, and is a powerful tool for healing trauma from your past AND trauma caused by a difficult pregnancy, birth, or postpartum period.
